Itinerary

On your arrival at Entebbe international airport the main entrance to the pearl of Africa in Uganda, you will be received by an Avelisa tours professional guide who will welcome and brief you about this interesting Uganda adventurous safari then  transfer you to the hotel for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Depart Kampala city for Jinja, Uganda’s adventure capital. Jinja is a large historical town of Uganda famed for the source of the Nile, one of the most iconic places in Africa- the point at which the Nile river exit lake Victoria to Mediterranean sea.

On your way to Jinja, drive through impressive landscapes of the Kampala city outskirts before entering into the sugar cane plantations at Lugazi, the forested lands of Mabira.on your arrival you will check in to your hotel at around 10:00am. Get on to the rafts to undertake a challenging white water rafting adventure along the historical Nile River. You will raft in company of the expert guides who are at your rescue incase the waters push you off the raft while the locals cheer you p on the river banks enjoying the free sight of seeing you struggle with waters. The rafting will go for a half day.

After rafting you will have lunch and rest for awhile then connect to the bungee jumping site for an afternoon bungee jumping experience. You will be tied with the latex rubber in the ankles that allows you to slope for over 44m down the waters of the Nile from the cliff safely. Enjoy the great adventure with the wind rushing through your hair, the views of the cliff, and the views of the sky which combine to generate a lasting experience. Retire for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

This day is dedicated to your relaxation in the tranquil environment listening to the flowing waters of the Nile- the longest river in the world. Have your breakfast at around 9:00am the sumption meals will be served according to your preference also adds spice to the experience. You can opt to undertake a city tour or undertake a boat ride to the source of the Nile.

After breakfast, embark on a 3-4 hours drive to Sipi falls. Along the way you will see amazing landscapes of eastern Uganda, rice fields, sugarcane plantations, busy roadside markets and quiet rural villages.

You will arrive at your lodge and settle for lunch and then have a guided 3hr hike to the main Sipi waterfall to marvel at this magnificent 99m-high fall. The water fall is surrounded by beautiful walking trails, lush green hills and offers breathtaking water drops and the surrounding physical and human landscape generating a remarkable state of excitement and memories.

Besides nature in abundance, the hike can include a tour of a small local coffee-producing farm; this is the perfect time to pick up some high-quality Ugandan coffee to take home to your friends and family. Return for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Enjoy your breakfast and embark on a scenic unforgettable drive to Kidepo. Drive through a remarkable northern Uganda landscapes extensive plains dotted with Manyattas (homesteads) of the local karamojong people, have lunch along the way and continue to Kidepo arriving in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Kidepo valley national park is in the far northeast ranks among Africa’s wilderness yet its seldom visited allowing a primeval wilderness vibe. The park hosts 77 mammal species including a healthy population of lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, giraffes among others plus many species which cannot be easily seen elsewhere in Uganda such as cheaters, bat-eared foxes, black-backed jackals, Aardwolf’s, caracals, greater and lesser kudus. There also plenty of birds in the park over 475 bird species including the common ostrich.

After breakfast, you will embark on a3-4hours photographic game drive along the trails of Kidepo valley national park. The vast open savanna plains of this park make it easy to spot animals. Expect to explore Narus valleys in the south sector of Kidepo expect to see animals like buffaloes, lions, zebras, aardwolves, cheater, hartebeest, and giraffes among others. A variety of birds can also be seen in Narus like African jacana, yellow-billed stock among others. You will return for lunch and relax

You will have a visit to the Lorokul community located just outside Kidepo to explore the cultural heritage of the karamojong nomadic pastoralists, one of Uganda’s most distinctive tribes. Karamojongs are known for their love of cattle and cattle rustling and their resistance to the trappings of the modern world. You will explore their traditions, the Manyattas, the art and crafts, the kraal and the grazing fields and traditional performances. You will return for dinner and overnight.

After having your breakfast you will embark on a 7-8hours scenic drive to Murchison falls national park the largest park of all the 10 national parks in Uganda covering 3840 square kilometers and blessed with the world’s most powerful waterfall, the Nile River. The park has over 76 species of mammals including 4 iconic Africa’s big 5 and 451 species of birds including the incredible shoebill.

On your journey to Murchison falls you will traverse the northern Uganda landscapes including the former fighting grounds of the kony’s LRA rebels in kitgum and Gulu. You will arrive in the evening, check in to your hotels, have dinner and overnight.

After having breakfast you will have a3-4 game drive  in the northern sector a very scenic section of the park with rolling savanna grasslands dotted with impressive stands of Borassus palms, acacia trees, Riverine woodlands search for elephants, Rothschild’s giraffes, lions, zebras, leopard among others.

You will return for dinner and relax for awhile. After you will be transferred for an afternoon boat ride on the historical river to the bottom of the falls which starts at 2:00pm. This is one of the highlights of this adventure safari. It’s not only recreations but also offers a great chance to watch crocodiles gliding along the surface with pods of submerged hippos breaking the surface of the still water as they peep to catch a glimpse of you, elephants and buffaloes quenching their thirst at the at the river banks along with the variety of water birds like goliath herons, saddle bellied stork among others.

On arrival to the bottom of the falls, embark on the hike to the top of the falls. These falls are arguably the world’s most powerful. After you will return for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast you will relax, have lunch as you prepare to undertake a very scenic drive south of the Albertine rift valley marked with spectacular steep escarpments. The extensive rift valley flats and fantastic views of Lake Albert. On arrival you will check in to your lodge.

Kabwoya wildlife reserve has superb views over Lake Albert and the surroundings undertaking an evening game drive in the reserve as you enjoy the wildlife and sunset views over the lake and rolling hills. The reserve has a good number of antelopes, some African buffaloes, common warthogs, monkeys, baboons, hippos and over 450 species of birds including grey parrots, crowned eagle, mountain masked Apalis, handsome spurfowl, Rwenzori Turaco among others.

Have enough time to enjoy your sleep after breakfast you will pack your bags and set off southwards. You will reach fort portal town another scenic area of Uganda. Have lunch. Fort portal is a home to the royal palace of the kingdom of Toro. It is in the heartland of the tea growing area of Uganda. After you will continue to Kibale national park.

Kibale national park hosts the highest diversities and concentration of primates in Africa. It is a natural habitat for 13 species of primates including over 1500 chimpanzees, black-and-white colobus monkeys, Uganda colobus red-colobus monkeys, bush babies among others, the park contains 70 mammal species, 375 bird species and 250 species of colorful butterflies. You will reach in the evening, check in to your accommodation, and have dinner and over night

After breakfast connect to kanyanchu visitors’ centre to catch up with the briefing by the ranger. This whole day unique chimpanzee habituation offers a great opportunity to watch and to interact with these great apes from dawn to dusk. You will have a great opportunity to learn about the chimps as you watch them leaving their overnight nests. Following and viewing them is both challenging and exciting involving exploring other forest wonders including other primates, unique birds, colorful butterflies among others. Once chimps are located, watch them carry out their day-to-day activities including feeding, hunting, patrolling their territories, resting and caring for their young ones. This habituation experience is the best way to get incredible photographs of the chimps.

After your morning breakfast you will embark on a2-5hours scenic drive to Semliki forest park on the floor of the great rift valley harboring some intriguing wildlife including forest buffaloes, forest elephants, water chevrotain, zenker’s flying mouse, pygmy antelope among others and 440 bird species practically the central African species such as the Congo serpent eagle.

Upon your arrival, you will take a hike to Sempaya hot springs. There are two hot springs- the male hot spring known as Bitente and the female hot spring, the geyser is called Nyansimbi. The geyser spouts up to 2 meters into the air from an opening in allow salt sculpture. The emerging water has a temperature of over 1000C and the surrounding pools are hot. You can boil plantain or eggs to have picnic bites. From Semliki drive back to fort portal and then connect to kasese on the foot of the Rwenzori mountains. Retire for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Have breakfast and transfer to Nyakalengija trailhead to start the 2-day Rwenzori mountain hiking adventure explore the legendary mountain of the moon as noted by Ptolemy in 150AD. Rwenzori is a UNESCO world heritage site and Africa’s highest mountain range, raising to 5109m above sea level with snowcapped peaks despite its closeness to the world’s main latitude- the equator.

The sights of the peak can be viewed from a distance, the sights of glaciers flowing down on the mountain are beautiful not forgetting the savanna landscapes of Queen Elizabeth national park, the rift valley lakes of Edward and George, and kasese town below, sleeping on the mountain is an adventure encounter of its own. The following day, you hike a little and then embark on the descent back to the starting point from where you will undertake a 1-hour drive to Queen Elizabeth national park for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Have an early morning breakfast and embark on a 3-4hours morning game drive in the classic savanna plains of the kasenyi sector in such for elephants, buffaloes, lions, bush backs, warthogs, leopards, hyenas among others. Apart from the great wildlife this section is one of the prettiest in the park especially in the golden light of the morning. Birding within the park is superb; you spend some time tracking a good number of special species including grey-crowned crane, red-throated spurfowl, and brown snake eagle among others. Return for relaxation and lunch.

In the afternoon, drive to Mweya jetty for another remarkable and unforgettable activity, boat trip on kazzinga channel which flows between lakes Edward and George. One of the world’s densest concentrations of hippos lives here, elephants, crocodiles and water birds like African open-billed, and saddle-billed storks among others. Return for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, set off on a 4-7 hours’ drive south to Bwindi impenetrable national park. Before living Queen Elizabeth national park, enjoy a short game drive in the ishasha plains for tree climbing lions. After exit the park and travel through the rolling hills of southwestern Uganda as you make your way for to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Bwindi impenetrable national park is a tropical forest wonderland. It has been declared world Heritage site by UNESCO because of its breathtaking natural beauty and unique ecological significance.

Bwindi is world-renowned for excellent gorilla trekking opportunities, harboring nearly half of the mountain gorillas on earth. There are other drawcards including over 120 mammal species, 10 species of primates, over 350 species of birds to spot, 1000 species of flowing plants and a variety of colorful butterflies.

Today experience what some people define as a life- changing event; a meeting with the gentle giants of Bwindi. Have an early breakfast, pack your lunch and then embark on a short drive to the park headquarters for a briefing from the ranger. After briefing, embark on a trek to find the gorillas. A gorilla trek in the dense forest of Bwindi is relatively difficult and needs some stamina; it usually takes 2-6hours. The forest sometimes is wet, muddy but the cheer thrill is coming across a habituated family group of gorillas. One the gorillas are sighted your allowed to spend one hour with them. You will return for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, depart for Lake Bunyonyi the second deepest lake in Africa known as the “little Switzerland of Uganda”. The drive is scenic through the fascinating kigezi highlands, small villages, coffee and banana plantations, and rolling hills. On tour arrival you will check in, have lunch, relax and undertake a boat ride on the beautiful lake dotted with 29 islands, visit different islands like the upside down island, Akampane island and many more

Enjoy your breakfast and embark on a 4-5hours’ drive to lake Mburo national park. Make a stopover at Igongo cultural centre for lunch and then continue your journey.

On your arrival, check in to your hotel and have an evening game drive in the park you will site different mammals like the giraffes, antelopes, zebras, elephants among others. You will return for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, team up with the ranger guide at Rwonyo, setting off to the extensive savannah stretches of lake Mburo national park on foot gaining possible views of Burchell’s zebras, Rothschild’s giraffe, cape buffaloes, common elands (the world’s second largest antelope, impalas (only found here in the whole of Uganda) among others, and look out for different types of bird species

After the activity, embark on a 4hours drive to Kampala, make a stopover at the equator for lunch, photos and water experiment explaining the geographical division between the southern hemisphere and the northern hemisphere
